Common Questions

A collection of things people usually ask before visiting, printing, joining a workshop, or ordering from Bad Student ✷

What is Bad Student?

Bad Student is a small independent risograph printing studio and DIY publishing practice rooted in the Philippines since 2017.

Bad Student operates across two online sites:

badstudentpress.com, which features publications, printed matter, workshops, collaborations, and international projects

badstudent.store, which mainly focuses on Philippines-based releases, studio offerings, local workshops, and regional shipping

Together, both platforms document and support the larger Bad Student studio practice across printing, publishing, workshops, and community projects.

Where are you based?

Bad Student operates between Cainta, Rizal 🇵🇭 and Queens, New York 🇺🇸

Workshops, pickups, releases, and shipping availability may vary depending on location.

What is risograph printing?

Risograph printing is a stencil-based printing process known for its vibrant spot colors, visible texture, and slightly imperfect registration.

Every color is printed one layer at a time, which means tiny shifts, overlaps, roller marks, and inconsistencies are part of the process and part of what makes each print unique.

Think of it somewhere between screen printing, photocopying, and printmaking.

Do you ship internationally?

At the moment, orders are generally fulfilled within their respective regions.

Items released through our Philippines studio are currently shipped within the Philippines, while releases from our New York studio are fulfilled within the United States.

Whenever possible, we try our best to bring selected releases, publications, and workshop materials across both studios, though availability may vary depending on logistics and timing.

If you have questions about a specific item or release, feel free to reach out before ordering.

Do you collaborate with artists and brands?

Yes. We enjoy collaborations involving publishing, printmaking, installations, merchandise, workshops, exhibitions, and experimental projects.
